As children of God, we are to be like our Heavenly Father. Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness, to rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, and over all the earth itself and every creature that crawls upon it.” (Genesis 1:26 KJV)
Our God is a God of Hope. Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13 NKJV)
Our life and circumstances are not limited by :
what we know,
what the Doctor says,
what the market condition is,
Recession,
Devaluation,
Inflation,
Prosecution,
Persecution,
Sickness,
Unemployment,
people we know,
influence we have,
Poverty,
what we know or
lack or anything else.
From famine to abundance in a day
We know from the book of 2nd Kings, Chapter six, that the famine was extremely intense in Samaria. Benhadad, the king of Syria, had attacked the King of Israel and surrounded Samaria.
And there was a great famine in Samaria; and indeed they besieged it until a donkey’s head was sold for eighty shekels of silver, and one-fourth of a kab of dove droppings for five shekels of silver. ( II Kings 6:25 NKJV)
We have an unimaginable situation when a woman cries to the king of Israel for help. The famine was so bad, that two women resorted to cannibalism! First day this lady boiled her son and both of them ate him. The next day, the other lady hid her son, not keeping her part of the agreement. The king was distraught and wore a sackcloth and cried.
As evil persisted in Israel, the king of Israel Jehoram blamed prophet Elisha for the famine. Whereas, God was using the adversary Benhadad to attack Israel to drive the people of Israel to God Himself!
In 2 Kings 7: 1-2, we read : Then Elisha said, “Hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord: ‘Tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, at the gate of Samaria.’ ”
So an officer on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God and said, “Look, if the Lord would make windows in heaven, could this thing be?”
And he said, “In fact, you shall see it with your eyes, but you shall not eat of it.”
The Lord’s word was contrary to all situations and circumstances. Logic and reasoning could not explain how the situation would ever change from extreme famine to plenty as per the prophetic word of God, expressed as the word of the prophet.
But that is what precisely happened in verse 16: Then the people went out and plundered the tents of the Syrians. So a seah of fine flour was sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, according to the word of the Lord. (2 Kings 7:16 NKJV)
Thus no matter what kind of famine it is, we can expect the situation to change in the blink of an eye, just in a day!
Hope for those waiting upon the Lord
For those taking time off and spending in the presence of God assurance is given.
When time is spent in worshiping God, hope and expectation from the Lord is available.
With a prayerful heart when one praises God, reads the scriptures, meditates the precepts and commandments, and reads the Bible, hope and expectation gets built up.
Our minds are renewed, we are reminded about the promises of God, we are assured of strength, stamina, flying high above troubling situations and circumstances.
But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31 NKJV)
God certainly knows
Our knowledge and expectations are based on past experiences of ours, our neighbors, what has happened recently etc. Seldom do we remember what we should be remembering. We often do not take the effort to choose to remember specific instances of breakthroughs. We do not remember or retell past testimonies of great healings and breakthroughs.
We can choose to be empowered by thousands of healing testimonies found in the Youtube channel, in the various testimony apps., in various church websites.
When we do so, the very same power of God the Father will manifest itself and make a straight highway for our miracle and breakthrough.
The hand of the Lord came upon me and brought me out in the Spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones. 2 Then He caused me to pass by them all around, and behold, there were very many in the open valley; and indeed they were very dry. 3 And He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” (Ezekiel 37:1 NKJV)
Prophet Ezekiel just replied with tact and diplomacy, “So I answered, “O Lord God, You know.”
God does not act independently. God chooses to act in partnership with man. A willing heart, an expectation, a desire is all what is required. …. Rest is mind blowing …miraculous breakthrough!
So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied,
there was a noise, and suddenly a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to bone.
Indeed, as I looked, the sinews and the flesh came upon them, and the skin covered them over; but there was no breath in them.
Also He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath,
‘Thus says the Lord God: “Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.” ’ ”
So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.
Let not situations limit us.
Let not understanding limit us.
Let us walk the perfect pathway of the Lord with abundant hope and great expectation.
