Why break free from the spirit of trauma?

We come across or know someone who suffers as a result of trauma. We know that Jesus came to give good news to people who suffer, be it poverty, the blind, prisoners, and the traumatised.

Luke 4:18 says
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free.
It’s so precious to know that Prophet Isaiah prophesied this verse thing in Isaiah 61:1

God desires all of us to walk in wholeness and healing! Yet this healing is blocked by scars from painful past experiences. This is from the spirit of trauma. When the spirit of trauma is broken, healing can finally break through!

As we prayerfully seek from the Holy Spirit, He will reveal the root cause of the trauma. All the 360-degree aspects relating to this trauma, including symptoms of trauma-related issues, extreme anxiety, fear, and nightmares, have been supernaturally healed and thousands if not more, have experienced freedom from the matters that limit life across the world by breaking free from the Spirit of trauma. No one needs to continue suffering, as healing is available in the name of Jesus Christ. The finished work of the cross is sufficient for freedom and healing in body and mind.

We were created in the image and likeness of God. Genesis 1:26 clearly points to this. However, a person who does not know this truth looks to the world for identity. Without awareness of God-given identity, we are like a ship without a rudder.

We know about the passage where Peter and John after the day of Pentecost went to the Jewish temple for prayer. And when they came across a man lame from birth begging. He was probably 40 and lame since birth. Peter and John chose to speak with such confidence to this lame man, who was begging outside the entrance to the temple. All these years, he never entered the temple; rather, he always positioned himself just outside the temple, but near the entrance, as people with deformities were considered cursed as he was lame from birth. But Peter and John who had an evident track record of being fearful of their association with Jesus, as Peter denied Jesus thrice. Probably John also had a streak of fear in acknowledging Jesus.

But after the day of Pentecost, both Peter and John were transformed into people with strong faith and great boldness. So when they saw this lame beggar, unlike in the past, they were determined to manifest the Kingdom Of Heaven here on earth. They saw what Father God saw—a wholesome man with healed legs, a man with joy, a man rejoicing and praising God. So evident was the confidence that Peter and John told the lame beggar that in the name of Jesus they would heal and make him whole rather than give him silver or gold, which they did not carry!. See how certain they were in expecting what Father God showed about the lame beggar. The confidence that healing was as tangible as money given as alms!!! This change from being fearful men into seeing the power of God manifest after the day of Pentecost experience made both Peter and John invincible glory channels of God. Look at what happened. The man started walking – after 40 years of lameness. Normally in our surroundings, a person who has not used his feet for a few months starts exercising only in stages after much external help from physiotherapists. But here in this case, after the power of God manifested in the lame man, he became wholesome in an instant.

And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God. And all the people saw him walking and praising God. Then they knew that it was he who sat begging alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him. ( Acts 3: 7-10 NKJV)

Reading the scriptures, reformatting our minds with the promises of God such that miraculous healings are tangible like physical money we exchange daily. Pastor Bill Johnson says It is abnormal for a Christian not to have an appetite for the impossible. It has been written into our spiritual DNA to hunger for the impossibilities around us to bow at the name of Jesus. As believers in Jesus Christ, as we have the Holy Spirit within us, we are not limited to seeing the limiting situations, sickness, handicaps, and brokenness seen by others. Whereas we can see what Father God perceives. We can see the supernatural possibilities from the Kingdom of Heaven. Thus become agents of God’s transformative work.

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. ( Romans 8:28-29 NKJV)

As Christians, we believe that as we are hidden within Christ, we can work in healing the brokenhearted to give freedom to the people in imaginary prisons created by their thoughts. We are to remember that it’s on us to console and comfort the mourners, to adorn people with beauty from the Lord over those who cover themselves with ashes. All these are expectations from us as we make people free from the spirit of trauma and many other limiting influences, thoughts, and beliefs that chain people around us.

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted.
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.” ( Isaiah 61:1-3 NKJV)
