Our Lord is awesome. He is omnipresent and omnipotent, and His power reigns supreme over all circumstances and everything. Jesus is Lord over our lives. He has redeemed us from sin and death, through his death on the cross and resurrection. Life and abundant life are ours through Jesus Christ.
The above statement is based on the gospel. The relevant verse is this: The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. (John 10:10 NKJV) Note: The thief refers to the evil one, who is Jesus Christ and has come so that we have abundant life.
Abundant life, includes everything good for your life in godliness. God is able to restore everything, including time.
The Lord redeems everything—all things, matter beyond our understanding, and that includes time.
We know that in agriculture, pests can damage the farm’s produce. Locusts, caterpillars, canker worms, and palmer worms attack. They may attack one season after another, or even in the same season.
Yet what a season has destroyed, or many seasons have destroyed almost totally, can be restored. As we trust in our Lord, he makes it possible. Here is the verse to substantiate this.
“So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten,
The crawling locust,
The consuming locust,
And the chewing locust,
My great army which I sent among you. (Joel 2:25 NKJV)
Use the verse in your prayer if it inspires (quickens) you to do so. See the restoration manifest. And as you persevere in this with this verse, you will see years of loss restored. All because the word of God is true.
We also know King Hezekiah got a word from God that he would live for an additional fifteen years. But the King desired proof so that he could be confident that the Word received was true. He asked that the sun’s shadow go backward. Here are the verses that point to this.
And this is the sign to you from the Lord, that the Lord will do this thing which He has spoken: Behold, I will bring the shadow on the sundial, which has gone down with the sun on the sundial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward.” So the sun returned ten degrees on the dial by which it had gone down. (Isaiah 38:7-8 NKJV)
Wine generally takes five weeks or more to make. Often two weeks or more for fermentation and over three weeks for ageing before it is ready to drink. But this time period was shrunk. Jesus Christ had attended a wedding in Cana. The wine was over; no more wine was available to serve the other guests. His disciples and his Mom were there to attend and celebrate the wedding. But in between serving the guests, the wine got over.
Since the wedding party was conducted by family friends, Jesus Mom asks the servants to follow the instructions from Jesus. Jesus gets them to fill the large water jars to the brim. After this was done, he asked for a glass to be served to the master of ceremonies. On tasting the drink, the master of ceremonies was amazed. The great aroma and taste of the wine surprised the master of ceremonies. The wine was far superior to the wine served earlier. What could have taken over 5 months was accomplished in probably 15 minutes. 5 months is 3,600 hours (5x30x24). Whereas 15 minutes is just 1/4 of an hour. As a result, time shrunk 14,400 times. 3,600×4 = 14,400.
The Lord can do things beyond your imagination. Do not be sad that time is lost. The Lord can redeem what was lost, stolen and restore it. Cry unto him in brokenness. Ask him with expectation.
