Jesus is the good shepherd.
Jesus told, “I am the good shepherd.”
The good shepherd knows his sheep by name.
For a bystander, all sheep may look similar, but the good shepherd knows each one distinctly. He has a strong one-to-one relationship with every sheep.
He knows the name of each sheep, he knows the specific address and details of each and every sheep.
The good shepherd protects his sheep. He is even prepared to give up his life to protect the sheep.
John 10:11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd sacrifices his life for the sheep.
The good shepherd gives a rich and satisfying life to the sheep.
John 10:10b My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.
The good shepherd knows the sheep and the sheep know the good shepherd just like God the father knows Jesus and Jesus knows Father God.
Isn’t this so amazing, the same way Jesus knows Father God he knows us.
John 10 14-15a “I am the good shepherd; I know my own sheep, and they know me, just as my Father knows me and I know the Father. (version NLT)
The same portion from AMPC version of the Bible.
I am the Good Shepherd; and I know and recognize My own, and My own know and recognize Me— Even as [truly as] the Father knows Me and I also know the Father.
Good to ponder and try to understand this special relationship and knowing better.
