The Bible is God’s Word for our lives. God’s word equips us to be victorious in life. As we trust in God for all matters, we are to articulate our wants and our needs. Using the words Jesus taught us to pray, using the prayers of Jesus, using the prayers in the psalms, using prayers from the epistles of Paul, old and New Testament places us in the victorious pathway as we use the very themes and words found in Bible verses.

Many of us know only the Lord’s prayer, the prayer Jesus taught the disciples.  But there are many other prayers of Jesus in the four gospels.

Ministry Training Manual – By Randy Clark

Here is a book which I benefited much from in my journey towards praying for the sick. Dr.Randy Clark is much loved and respected world wide for his ecumenical view that all denominations should work together in carrying out healing and deliverance, signs and wonder as a matter of obedience to the commission given by Jesus Christ.

And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. (Matthew 10:7-8 New King James Version)

Why reading the Gospels is essential for a Christian?

why read gospel

Many devout Christians read the Gospels multiple times a year. The Gospels are the four books of the New Testament from the Bible. The four gospels are the Books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These Gospels are about the life of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. Only through Jesus, we have salvation and eternal life. Hence reading and reading again provides us with revelation and understanding to build and strengthen our faith. And it’s only by believing in Jesus, as the begotten son of God, His death on the cross for our sins and His resurrection that we are saved and we become righteous. It’s most important that the foundation of Christian faith is always strong. Our eyesight can become poor, the physical Bible may not be near us, and the battery of our mobile phone could have got discharged. Hence let us have our hearts inscribed with the eternal truth required for our blessed life here on earth as well as in eternity.
