Today’s verse is from Psalm 28:7. Here is the verse from three versions of the Bible.
The Lord is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.
My heart leaps for joy,
and with my song I praise him. (version NIV)
The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. (version KJV)
The Lord is my Strength and my [impenetrable] Shield; my heart trusts in, relies on, and confidently leans on Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song will I praise Him. (version AMP)
Let us join the psalmist and declare this.
The Lord is my strength, my very impenetrable shield.
As we trust in the Lord, not placing our hope in our skills or learning or our riches or our network, we see a shift in our mindset. The Lord who knows all, beyond what is seen and known, orchestrates what’s good for us. We are helped.
This awareness builds up. In the testimonies you hear, the hand of God becomes evident.
The joy we get from knowing that the King of Kings, the Lord of creation, loves us and cares for the minutest aspect of our lives is simply marvellous. We naturally start rejoicing and praising the Lord.
