Who does not want a healthy mind?
Almost everyone likes to have:
a mind that is peaceful,
a mind that is not anxious,
a mind that is joyful,
a mind thinking good,
a mind not thinking of evil,
a mind that is focussed,
a mind that does not wander away!
The Bible has many secrets that are hidden.
These are waiting to be revealed to those who wait upon the Lord.
Secrets that are not hidden from you.
But rather secrets hidden for you.
If you have a lifestyle of feasting on His Word daily,
meditating on what you have read,
you will be surprised at the treasure you are bound to discover from time to time.
If you wonder why, read the Bible daily?
Here is what Jesus said to the Devil.
But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’(Matthew 4:4 NKJV).
The Devil was trying to distract Jesus from his life purpose and mission.
He tried to tempt Jesus.
Jesus was hungry after 40 days fast when the Devil tempted him.
And the devil said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.” (Luke 4:1-13 NKJV)
We can see how it was a very compelling situation and circumstance for Jesus to have food.
Yet Jesus resisted, knowing that he chose not to obey the satan, even if the situation seems justified in terms of the need for food.
How to bring the mind to Peace?
The answer is straightforward.
We are asked to make a choice to meditate on these things – meditate means thinking intentionally, thinking by a decision/ choice.
What things?
We are asked to make a choice think on these things.
Whatever things that meet these criteria viz.
Things that are true,
Things are noble,
Things are just,
Things are pure,
Things are lovely,
Things are of good report,
Anything of virtue and
On anything that is praiseworthy.
We are asked to think, actively meditate on these things.
And the God of Peace will be with us.
Here is the powerful Living, Spirit breathed Word of God pointing to this truth.
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you. ( Philippians 4:8-9 NKJV)
Peace matters so very much in having a healthy and sharp mind.
A peaceful mind makes superior decisions.
A peaceful mind is free from anxiety that affects many in our surroundings.
How to get Wisdom?
Man seeks wisdom.
He travels far and wide, reads numerous books all in quest of wisdom, not knowing that eternal truths are revealed in the Bible.
Truths that will guide you through every circumstance into eternity.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. (Proverbs 9:10 NKJV)
A reverential and loving fear of God is required.
This can be similar to the loving fear a son has for his loving father.
Are there more nuggets?
Yes, certainly there are more.
But these are for you to discover and experience.
For you to drink of the joy of discovery as you regularly read and meditate on the Bible.
May your thirst to discover these nuggets increase.
